The morning started with an invite to go for a walk, followed by a phone consult with my doctor.  Amazingly, he had already received a report following my MRI scan yesterday and it seems I have Spondylosis, which is degeneration of the vertebral column.  Apparently my spine looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  It is this, plus osteo arthritis, that’s causing the pain in my leg.  A surgical intervention won’t help, which is probably a good thing, so I need to use painkillers to keep active. I guess it could have been worse.

As soon as the phone consult finished, just after 9am, we dashed out the door to join our friends for a walk. It was a lovely morning and a pleasant walk and we finally arrived back home just after 1pm, having stopped for coffee with another friend who hadn’t been able to join the walk.

We had a few things to do at home then set off at 4pm to drive over to the North Shore to have dinner with a friend from Napier and her two young grandchildren.  We had a lovely evening with them before heading home just after 9:30pm.  As I reversed down the driveway on what I thought was concrete I suddenly became stuck.  Hubby got out of the car to see what the problem was and I was actually on grass in a muddy quagmire. I couldn’t move forward and, as I reversed gently backwards, mud sprayed everywhere covering both hubby and the left-hand front side of the car.  Oops!! That wasn’t the end of our woes, as the road we needed to take to get onto the motorway was closed because roadworks were in full swing, so we had quite a long detour before we finally got onto the motorway. We had a good laugh about it after we arrived home.

The blip shows scenes from our walk.
