Onions

A day off.  A slow start.  Laundry.  An hour at the allotment.   Awfully dry, even the onions planted in March are struggling, some look to have failed.   A took a wheelie bin half filled with water and used it to moisten the soil in trenches where I planted another batch of potatoes.   There's a little rain forecast tonight and tomorrow - just hoping for a lot more.  It doesn't look likely for a while.

After his Mum set off for Birmingham I popped over to Jamie's where we both basically dozed the afternoon away!   A walk for Meg, a short visit to Jane & John at Rhydyronen and home for a meal.  That's about it.

A very last minute blip photo.   Allium akaka, native to Iran but quite happy in UK gardens.  One or two grey-green leaves and a low umbel of reddish flowers.   I was originally given a few bulbs by a fellow bulb enthusiast but these are raised from my own seed.
