Mono Monday - city lights

We travelled to Sydney this evening. It’s a 4 hour train journey (200km - Hardly speedy) because we have to wind around and over the Blue Mountains.  We are staying at the Harbourview hotel in North Sydney but haven’t the famous view over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, instead looking north towards the streets and high rise of the suburb of North Sydney.

The theme for MM is anything literary so I’m calling this “City Lights : A street life” by Keith Waterhouse. I haven’t read the book but it fits I guess. We got off the country train at Central Station and were lucky to catch a city link with about 1 minute to spare. This hotel is just above the North Sydney Station so easy to get to and saves catching a taxi.  I stopped at a convenient “Convenient Store” which sold everything but what I wanted -fresh milk for a cuppa. Then the lift key wouldn’t work and then the fridge was leaking. We have had the receptionist earning her money since we got here half an hour ago.

We had some more electioneering early this morning then our new beds arrived. I am still not feeling 100% and rested the remainder of the day. We are being picked up by our daughter at 7.30am to drive to Tony’s funeral and then we will go home. Another big day coming up.

Thanks for hosting 60plus.
