Crane fly

A relaxed start to the morning today , Julie was due to be at work and go to her Dads this morning. She received a call from her boss to say he wasn't opening up today so she wasn't needed so a quick call to her Dad to rearrange her trip to him till tomorrow so that we could make the most of the day together instead.
Late morning we went to a rather hectic Tesco to get the weekly shop out the way,. After a spot of lunch we decided to go for a walk in search of a blip , a bit of a grey day but at least it was dry and not to cold.
We parked the car up on the outskirts of Lincoln and then went for a nice walk along the Foss Dyke canal . Plenty of birds singing  Sedge warblers White throats , chiffchaff saw my 1st swallow and also heard my 1st Cuckoo for the year.. A couple of butterflies and other insects around.
I spotted this crane fly so grabbed a shot of it. I am pleased with how it has come out and I have never noticed before What  bright Blue eyes they have .
Back home now after over 10 000 steps time to relax and watch some Championship Rugby League this evening
