Westgate, front door

Everytime I work at the theatre I pass through these historic gates. This was the main entrance from the west into the city of Kalmar from 1658, when that part of the city wall was completed. I'm on my way out , over the wooden bridge, turn right by the city prison, to fetch my car at the parking next to the prison wall. The prison itself, newly renovated for the safety of the inmates and the staff, is one of the last prisons placed in the centre of a city still in use. There's room for 60 inmates, some of them has one of the best views in town.

The extra is a morning blip, taken through my open front door, while brushing my teeth. I couldn't resist the peaceful, rural scene outside.
