View of Brancaster beach

Last night I could not see a decent sunset from out the window so I did not go down to the beach to photograph it. Besides I was busy making supper and the others only got back from sailing at about 7.15pm. They all loved the sailing, there was enough wind and sailing past Scolt Head Island they saw many seals and so many birds. This area is known for its large grey seal population and for the bird life.

This morning the forecast was for rain but actually it was dry but overcast and breezy. We took Xena to Brancaster beach for a last run around, she loves sprinting across the sand chasing the ball (see extra). At one point she was joined by two other dogs, all three of them with balls in their mouths, racing across the beach together. This is a view of the beach from the sand dunes covered in marram grasses.

Gavin and I had a booking at a local restaurant for lunch, Tommy and Inca did not want to come as they were working, but they got take away pizzas from the restaurant nearby, which are reputed to be the best in the area. They said they were delicious.

After lunch we did a quick cleaning of bathrooms and I vacuumed the floors. We had already done wash loads of bed linen so we remade the bed with clean bedding.

We drove home via Kings Lynn to drop Tommy and Inca off at the station and we continued on our way home. It was busy but no major holdups. It was a lovely mini break, I just wish it wasn’t so windy on the first two days. We will be back there again for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
