Safe From The Cat....

...And Up On The Wall.

I actually got something accomplished today..so many days slip by around here with nothing to show for them..but not today.. which makes it something of a red letter day....

I was determined to tackle the problem of how to hang my mom's iris quilt..and hand-sewing a sleeve on the back seemed in the end, to be the best way to avoid doing damage to it. I gave it a try and although it isn't perfect, at least the quilt is hanging up, cat-free and out of harm's way....(extra)

The other highlight of my day was lunch with my friends Donna and Noreen at a local French cafe...the idea being a little French cuisine, a bit of wine and a lot of chit chat in a quiet, uncrowded, intimate setting. We had so much to catch up on ...and the cafe seemed the perfect place for that..

And it would have been except for an entire culinary arts class of teenagers from a local high school that came in on a field trip for lunch and then rotated table by table into the kitchen for a short lesson given by the chef! As well behaved as those teenagers were, the noise level made any kind of meaningful conversation impossible but, when they finally left, we had the place to ourselves and could linger as long as we wanted..so we did..and we talked ourselves out!  All's well that ends well.

A very good day...
