Change

Over to Glasgow for most of the day. Aiming to have the first handover meeting with VickyG and NK. Rather delayed start (although it allowed for gossip!) when NK was very late, but we managed to work through one set of stuff at least and set out some next steps for later in the summer. Settled down to a performance of Sweeney Todd in the afternoon and it was an excellent production with the leading lady a stand out amongst a strong cast. Even managed to persuade me to like Stephen Sondheim more than before.
It was a much longer show than we’d expected…3 hours, so I had to run for my train. Arrived just in time but it was packed….standing room only and people were squished in like sardines, so I elected to wait 15 minutes for the next one so I could sit in comfort and space. No idea why the earlier one was so packed or why nooone else took the opportunity to switch trains.
Home as the earlier sunshine had gone and it was starting to rain. Chatted with A and S then we went (in a downpour) to the Malaysian restaurant for supper. Roti as delicious as ever…and even flakier, then we had beef rending, red curry vegetables, coconut rice and Nasi Goreng. We wolfed it all down then home to dry off a bit before out again to the performance costumer graduation show (extra). Nice to see a few people at the drinks beforehand that I hadn’t seen for a while, and good to be back in the costume show mayhem from pre Covid times.
All in all, a rather different day and full of stagecraft.
Not sure what we’ll do this weekend, unfortunately the weather’s not looking that great
