26 May 2022 - Soldier Beetle

I think this is a soldier beetle - but he looks slightly different from the Google search.  Mainly the bit behind his eyes - I thought it looked like he was wearing an old soldier's helmet from WW2 and wondered if that was how it got its name...?  You can see it in the extra shot.

Just after I got a few shots of this beetle the heaven's opened and the wind got up.  Five minutes later, the sun was out again!  It's been a changeable day!

Got through quite a list of wee jobs today and I have a full day in the office tomorrow (after I deliver another urine sample to the vet) so hoping to get on with some bigger jobs.

Early night tonight I think - I saw 4am, 4,30am, 5,40am, 6.40am then decided enough was enough and got up!  I could have snoozed this afternoon...
