Pub Portrait - Wacko

Next in the occasional Pub Portrait series is Wacko.

Nick is one of the young uns. I have known him all my life. Our mums, both part time primary school teachers, looked after us and our siblings in turn. My mum worked mornings, his worked afternoons. In the other half of the day they looked after us. His mum and dad were arty Helen and uncle Mike.

Through childhood we would arrange sleepovers we lived round the corner from each other (Nick had a black and white TV). I watched Sleuth for the first time with him. Great film, a 2 hander...not that we knew it was beforehand. Caine and Olivier.

Nick worked for Nat West and got married first. As a result he had kids first, and as another result, he's nearly got rid of his before some others have to get theirs through GCSEs!

Oliver and Lily are both great kids and now making their own way in life. So Nick and Becky could now go and do whatever, whenever...the rest of the young uns will follow.

A banker, an IT Hardware trader, a golfer (decent) and a muso (New Order his thing) are all strings to his bow, but the best is he's a nice guy. Always has been. Not many are.
