Holiday week

Instead of our usual Spring Bank holiday, which would normally have been today, we have a celebration at then end of the week for the Queens Platinum Jubilee.  As far as I’m aware it’s the first one there has ever been. All the schools are now on holiday and lots of decorations are appearing, not just in shops but in villages and on people’s houses.

As usual after our Monday morning sing we went over to Guiseley for an M & S shop. We pass through the village of Hawksworth and as I’ve shown before this little tree and flagpole at Milton Corner is always decorated for the occasion (Remembrance, Christmas etc) so here it is dressed in red, white and blue for the Jubilee.
Last time I blipped it it was because they were flying the Ukrainian Flag.

We had a good sing as usual starting with a new song for our September concert. Tickets whet on sale on Friday and the Stalls are already sold out! The remainder of the session was taken over with singing the set list for a Jubilee celebration event on Friday.
A good start to our summer singing season.
