White-lined Sphinx Moth

PD thought it was just holding really still when he spotted it, but I think it was long gone.  It was stiff when I picked it up and put it on the hot tub to be photographed.  It was about 2 inches across the wings.  I wish I could have seen it in all its glory.  I haven't seen one before and it really looks beautiful.

I am grateful that I found a blip and time to post it in the middle of a busy day! :-)
