My friend Bobbie.

My friend Bobbie came this afternoon and we sat in the garden for once.
I didn’t think we’d be able to at one point not long after lunch. It clouded over and looked showery.
Nevertheless we enjoyed having our cake and coffee sitting at the patio table.
I haven’t seen her for several weeks due to Covid and having 5 days in Winchester for a wedding and then visiting old friends in the area.
We have another wedding two weeks on Saturday. This is the fourth one since last August.
Bobbie’s speech wasn’t too bad this afternoon but she is aware she doesn’t get things right all the time.
She left to drive home after a couple of hours.
Several parcels arrived during the afternoon. One was a complete surprise. It came from Heidi in Dallas and contained a beautiful Kingfisher light catcher, so it is now in the summerhouse. A welcome addition to all the others. I made a little WhatsApp video to thank her, and show her where I had hung it in the window.
Part way through the time Bobbie was here there was a huge swarm of bees hovering above next door’s hedge and that of their adjoining neighbour.
It was quite a sight.
They eventually flew off en masse.
Our bees on the cotoneaster have been busy all day, humming and buzzing, collecting pollen and nectar as these particular shrubs evidently are nectar rich.
It’s time for tea.
And maybe an earlier night as we have an early start in the morning to drive to my sister’s.
