Marjorie's ramblings

Spider Woman

Brenda Marjorie Hale, Baroness Hale of Richmond, DBE, PC, FBA, spoke to a full house in the Queens Hall at Hexham Book Festival this evening.

As you might expect she was erudite, clear in her thinking and interesting.

If you want to know more about the "Spider Woman" title of her book you can read a short account here.

Tonight she wore a turquoise sea horse on her jacket but had a spider brooch covered up on her dress.

The interviewer was disappointing. She was clearly awe struck and kept covering her mouth with her hand when she asked questions.

This did not stop us enjoying what Lady Hale had to say. Her motto for her coat of arms is Omnia Feminae Aequissimae, translates as "Women are equal to everything".

This morning I processed images from the Roman Wall Show. If you are interested you can see them on my Facebook page where I have made them public. I am Marjorie Baillie on Facebook and my posts are tagged @RomanWallShow. (Lots of dogs, sheep and people.)
