Lily Minogue

Lily Minogue and two other famous Scottish drag queens have made their way north for Shetland's first ever Pride. Here is Lily fixing her nails before the parade started. What a great atmosphere there is this morning. I think the organisers will be pleased with the turnout. The parade included Trades Unions, the local authority, NHS Shetland, churches,  the fire and rescue, coastguard, ambulance and police services. Channel 4 was here to film. The shops have been decorated all week and this morning the Town Hall was flying the Pride flag (extra).

There is a whole day of entertainment ahead but we don't have tickets for this evening's events. It's been a sell out.

The rain has stopped and it is a far better day weather-wise. We're taking a sandwich and heading for a beach.
