Gently down the stream

Mallow

I would say this is musk mallow (Malva moschata).  It is growing all over the place this year.  Mostly I think of it being on Morn Hill with the dry chalky soil and the butterflies, but it's in the reserve (marshland) and on various local footpaths as well.

I have no idea who the little beetle is.

A short walk today, then I've been in the garden (with my friendly robin) digging up the last of the box bushes.  Very sad, but they've been decimated by the very elegant box tree moth who I blipped with such glee last summer.  They are to be replaced by lavender, so not all bad ;))

Politics.  What a day!!

Happy Thursday evening/Friday morning  xx
