Capital adventures

When is a pool not a pool.....?

When it's shut for maintenance.

Another day in paradise that didn't turn out as expected.

The usual tidying and cleaning in the morning with the added thrill of some laundry.  Watched an interesting programme about the baroque - St Peter's to St Paul's.  Forced me to look up some facts about James 6 and Charles 1.  No idea the former was married in Oslo and the latter born in Dunfermline. Did high finance, bought cabin baggage and checked in for Langkawi. That took a while.

Sewed on a hot balcony.  Then as, as I was about to go to 1 Mont Kiara message from #2 son changing plans.  He's nae well, though turns out not Covid and the rejigged plans were also cancelled.

So a jaunt to Jaya to buy food for tonight's spaghetti carbonara (#1 son, not me). Olivia was home when I got back so we went to the pool (paddling) for over an hour.

J has sent me pics of the forest fire 12 kms from their house and the Canadairs flying over to fight it.  Scary stuff.

She is at Chinese school.  Up at 5/5.30 and away by 6.30 a.m.  On a Friday she finishes at 11.30 but does her homework in C Block.  She is in a class of 50. Totally different system from home.

We ate on the balcony.  There was a lovely cooling breeze.  Friday night is movie night.  WH was having a movie night at the office so it was just the 4 of use, the new Spiderman movie and snacks. I had unexpected news that will probably mean a trip to Putrajaya before I come home and then an hour with N, who has replaced me as College Chair.  Spiderman was just finishing as that meeting ended.

Being in the pool with Olivia was today's highlight.  So good to be cool and such good fun.
