Happy 95th Birthday Mum

I spent most of the day working, although we did go out for coffee this afternoon.  We were going to take Mum with us, but when we went to pick her up she wasn’t there.  When I enquired at reception I was told she’d gone out in the village bus with several other residents for a tiki tour around Auckland.  Quite funny, really, but I guess when you’re 95 you can do what you like.

My sister, brother-in-law, hubby and I took Mum out for dinner. Our first and second choices weren’t open on a Monday night, so we went to a German restaurant in Kohimarama because it was easy to park, easy to get Mum into and out of the restaurant, and it seemed to have something for all tastes. It wasn’t haute cuisine, but the food was tasty and we all enjoyed our meals - mains only, there certainly wasn’t room for dessert afterwards.
