The accidental finding

It was hot in the cell today. Drew all the top blinds, got the fans working, door open, then I had to prepare the clinical room next door for visitors. The blinds were broken, it was stifling, but I got some glasses of water and the fan, and we sat out of the sun. I was interested to see that both of the visitors spotted the clinical weighing scales in the corner, and took turns to weigh themselves once our meeting was over. They also said that the sun in the UK is hotter than in their (middle Eastern) country of origin.

At lunchtime, we had compulsory training in the waiting room (no patients booked in) with every fan in the building pressed into service. Ice creams were partaken of afterwards. Our building is, like much of the NHS estate, well over forty years old in the main building, and ill equipped for extremes of weather..

I worked on just two cases for most of the day, and had an interesting chat with a GP. Walked home and I've been trying to cool down ever since. It is definitely cooler at home, and there WAS some rain today, for about ten minutes, but I missed the shower, and it left no trace.

Tomorrow we are out and about at a networking event (lateral flow tests required beforehand). Tomorrow, too, the weather may break.
