Tatton Park

Tuesday
Roger was taking care of a few things for Janet this morning, but then early afternoon we picked up Bernard and drove to Tatton Park. It is a large estate featuring a variety of gardens and a deer park. You start off in the large walled garden, which features a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. As you leave the walled garden, there is some impressive topiary. Near the mansion are the formal Italian gardens. One of my favourite gardens is the Japanese garden. It turned into a beautiful afternoon, and we spent several hours wandering around, enjoying it all. We finished up with a cream tea at the cafe. We had planned to eat out in the sunshine, but the wasps forced us inside - they were very keen on the jam!
In the evening we watched the Lionesses cruise through to the finals of the Womens European Cup with their 4-0 win over Sweden!
