Zion Canyon - National Park

***** I am back from holiday and have A LOT of photos to edit ... bear with me - it will take time to catch up *****

Saturday

We got up early in order to be at Zion Visitor Centre before 8 am to doge the crowd ....

We left Kanab at 6:45 am and were at Zion in time to get a parking spot.
Zion has an amazing shuttle service so there was no need to move the car again before leaving.

we took the shuttle to the lodge to get a coffee before starting the walk to the Emerald Pools.
It was hot and no clouds in the sky.
We climbed to all 3 ponds and then took the long way back to Grotto - the next stop for the shuttle.

We planned to look at the Narrows and shuttled to the last stop in the glen where you could walk along the river - which was a bit of a "motor way" with hundreds of tourists.
It was hot and beautiful and we walked along the river instead of on the trail. We found a lovely spot with shadow and had a break.
Neil even went for a swim.

We then continued and walked in the narrows - where you are walking in the river and the water can get up to the hips at times.
Cameras were securely in the back pack  - no much pics from the narrows ... they were also crowded with people.

At some point - much further that we had planned we returned and walked back.
It was refreshing to walk in the cold water.
We were back at the car at 4:30 pm and knachered.
We stopped at Mt Carmel - Cafe Thunderbird for coffee then drove back to Kanab.

Dinner at The Rocking V cafe then we  hit the Jeans shop as they had huge discounts on Levis jeans - Neil got one!

We were shattered when coming back to the Motel and fell asleep immediately.

Blipping the river .... the people were all behind us on the path .....
