Mr and Mrs Smith

We had an early start today as we were off to a wedding.  We were staying with friends, so set off in good time so we could get ready at their house in good time before we were due to depart.  I had a nagging fear that we might get held up in traffic, but we made it through the two places we regularly get held up without too much trouble and were heading up to Dundee.  As we approached Dundee we hit a very long tail back of stationery traffic.  Disaster.  We made very slow progress, but were able to get off the main road and continued our journey on narrow country roads.  We were due to leave our friend’s house at 12:30pm.  We got there at 12:25pm!!  The taxi was already waiting and was happy to wait on us.  Our friends were all ready to go.  We three got ready in record time and were in the taxi and on our way to the venue.   The irony of all this is that we had actually driven past the venue to get to where our friends live.

After that stress, the rest of the day went very smoothly and it was a fabulous wedding, in a wonderful setting, spent with very good friends.  And even the weather was amazing.  They happy couple tied the knot outdoors in the sunshine, in a beautiful walled garden.  The meal and reception were held in a beautifully converted byre.   There was lots of dancing!

We got home late, but after such a lovely day.  We had been worried that BB wouldn’t manage the day – but he was on good form and was looking very dapper in his new suit.
