Brora

After a huge breakfast we left Golspie and tootled the four miles north to Brora. Not exactly getting far on the way but we had a couple of hours to spare and we made the most of the expanse of beach to give Flora a great run. And a swim in the River Brora. Then up to Gill and the crossing to South Ronaldsay. See extra for the first glimpse - the very south of Orkney, about six miles from the Caithness coast.

To the Murray Arms in St Margaret's Hope where we have stayed many times. A no nonsense place and we feel at home as it is so familiar. I met blipper Topsyturvy straight away and we went for a lovely long walk. Thanks TT, really good to see you again. Extra of TT with Flora who has run and run and is quite exhausted. This is good for us as we are going out to Robertsons for that underrated meal high tea.

I am so happy to be back in Orkney. Falling behind - you'll understand I hope!
