A-typical Rainbow

A little bit of a lazy morning today but outside in the garden, in the sunshine, for Noon. A late breakfast of bagel and cream cheese and a light lunch of mango and yogurt were consumed, almost, at the same time.

By about 3pm we were at the Battersea Power Station complex. Since we were last there they have removed lots of hoardings and you can now walk all around the Power Station: and we did. It’s very impressive. We visited the shell of the building in 2006  and it would be really great to go and see the restored control rooms at some point. They say it’s opening in the Autumn so we will look to see it we can get some tickets.

We got a coffee at one of the little coffee places that have sprung up but by about 3:30pm we were in the bar of the Turbine Theatre waiting for the afternoon’s performance of A-Typical Rainbow

It was incredibly thought provoking and well acted. We didn’t see the author in the lead role but the cast we did see were all excellent.  I think the second half went heavy-handed on a message that we’d already got from the first half but I think that might only be a small quibble. The Guardian review said it was a “sparky debut from a promising playwright”.
