Back home

I was up at 6.30 this morning, as were 3 of the 4 children in the house, along with their parents.
We knew we needed to have the holiday house cleaned and emptied by mid-morning, ready for whoever is coming in next, so it was all hands to the pump. We took turns, alternating between entertaining the kids and getting on with the various jobs. It was all done by 11, and we were off half an hour later. I got home at 4, having opted to take it slowly and to have a couple of breaks on the way.
It's been a lovely week together. It's had its challenges, as Ruth developed a chest infection at the beginning of the week, and was worried that it might be turning into pneumonia (which she has had twice before).  Fortunately she was able to register as a temporary patient at a local GP practice, and the doctor prescribed antibiotics.  The doc did find signs of fluid in one lung, so there was no doubt about the need for treatment.  Ruth's still not fully recovered, so we'll all be keeping a careful eye on her; with Luca still waking at night intermittently, she's tired and rundown - a visit to her home GP will probably be needed, I think.
Back home, the light was fading before I got round to finding a possible blip. Then the last of the petunias in a hanging basket caught my eye, almost glowing in the fading light.
