It's Here...

Autumn has arrived at least in the shops...

Today I didn't do a lot - just errands to get prescriptions and then a trip to the grocery store where I was met with everything "harvest" - fall floral bouquets, cute little scarecrows stabbed into planters of ornamental cabbages and grasses, pots of chrysanthemums, and these decorative corn cobs..  Next it will be cornucopias of orange, green and yellow gourds and big orange bows, sprigs of red berries and autumn leaves.... I love autumn and all its colour and "harvesty" things, but I didn't expect it quite so soon!  Is it time to dig out the sweaters and shawls and change the quilt on the wall?

After the grocery store, I really needed a touch of summer again so went down the street to the public boat launch at the harbour...and there it was .. those familiar scenes of summer.... sailboats at dock over at the marina, waiting for another day out on the water.. and the boys of summer...lining up to get their boats and jet skis out of the water and onto trailers to be brought back again tomorrow.. a busy holiday weekend...full of boating and fishing, not many more days like this left..but they are still here! Whew!
