Summer's lease

...hath all too short a date.

The last of her blueberries are over-ripe for the picking but very shortly now son and family will be completing the purchase of the house they were hoping to move into over two months ago. It's been a long and often nail-biting delay (no fault of their own) having left their Cardiff home and moved all their wordlies to ours on the first of July.  (They haven't been staying here all the time but with the other grandparents too.)

Summer's lease is running out for butterflies too. I was pleased to get some shots of a jewel-bright small copper nectaring on Sea Aster which grows on the salt marsh around the Nevern estuary. Its raggedy pale lilac flowers are an early autumn pleasure for those who recognise them.

Colour seemed to be the mood of the day.
