A Day In The Life

Farmer MrsP

While I mowed the lawn MrsP gathered sticks and branches off an old pile at the edge of the property and used a tarp to drag her firewood to the patio for tomorrow’s burn. Hopefully the gusty winds we’ve experienced over the past few days will be calm • We harvested three bags of potatoes this afternoon. Here is Farmer MrsP showing off her favorite variety, fingerlings. They are so yummy roasted with olive oil! Despite the dry hot summer the yields look comprable to prior years, so far, but unfortunately some of the potatoes have common scab, a skin disease that we’ve never experienced before. Thankfully the disease can be removed when the potato is peeled • Playing it safe and covering pepper plants and cucamelons tonight. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get that cold • Hope you all have enjoyed your Friday. Happy Weekend!
