Day out

A slightly bizarre day. First waking in the downstairs room. I didn't swim. Top complicated, but I did go and get croissants.

Spent the day with cousin J. She spent quite a good part of the day a) videocalling her partner, G, in Brisbane and b) trying to get on WiFi so she could communicate with her travel companions who were also WiFi hopping. They had decided not to get local Sims when they arrived 5 weeks ago. It was exhausting trying to keep in contact.

But the main part of the day was first a drive to Roslin and a tour of the Chapel with a very informative talk from the guide. It was much busier than the last time I was there. Then we went to the Saughton Garden Bistro for lunch with Mum. J and I had a walk round the garden while she sat by the bandstand.

We got back and tried to work out how J could be reunited with F and R, tricky as we didn't know where they were. However, they did turn up at the front door and I managed to find a pub that was probably showing the Man U match so they set off happy on their way back to Dundee.

And my life resumed. The old shower screen, dumped at the front, had blown over and shattered in a gust of wind, a long phone call about the new contract and tomorrow and finally finishing the write up from the Falkirk afternoon. I was too tired to do anything other than head to bed.
