Life in Sunny Dubai

It was GREAT to have a lie in today. (G doesn't have to go to school on a Wednesday.) We had a busy morning driving to the House of Wisdom to (finally) collect a refund for the t-shirts we bought in August. After four weeks, they couldn't secure the size we needed, so they made an exception.

Cash collected, we headed straight back to Dubai, avoiding traffic queues to do a quick food shop before lunch. I then did my hours at work before stopping to watch the Queen's coffin being taken from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall to lie in state until here funeral on Monday. An amazing, amazing sight.

We stopped to go to the SA meeting. Our officers are away, but a soldier led the meeting and did a fine job. I am so glad I checked the equipment I had to hand over to him on Monday when I had time.

We met up with Miriam again in the evening, this time at Biker's Cafe. The food was spot on, and once again, we had plenty to chat about. Thankfully, we will see her again when she heads back after her trip to the US. Despite the late hour, we found a currency exchange, so she didn't have to use the facility at the airport! Home before midnight, but too tired to thin of writing a journal!
