Meet Bert

Bert (she) belongs to Joan who lives diagonally across the road. Joan was one of the people who looked after Mum when I was on holiday.

I should say that Bert owns Joan. She was a stray who came to Joan, sat on her patio and meowed piteously. She was thin and a stray. Her voice sounded like "Bert, Bert" so Bert she became.

Of course, Joan did not want to adopt her and Bert lived under the shed for a while.................guess what?! Cats are amazing when they choose new people.

Things here are much the same. Mum is in a lot of pain. The antibiotics are not making a difference. I think we will have to try to get an x-ray tomorrow.

Annette was due to come and clean today, but her beloved gran is very poorly and she went to be with her in hospital.

I've ironed, changed a bed, done washing, picked apples and raspberries, and shortened pyjama trousers so the day has not been wasted. (note the use of the Oxford comma on this occasion!)

Chips and eggs for tea, (Mum can't face anything just yet).
