Tall Asters

Millie woke us up around three am. She was not feeling well. But I do not think either of us got back to sleep. We finally got up around 7am. We had several pre-trip tasks to finish before we left. We will have lemon blueberry scones for breakfast while we camp. On the way to the truck, I snapped this photo of my asters because the predicted storm could ruin them before we return. On the road at 10:45. The screw in Hubby’s glasses came out while we were still in VA. Luckily, I carry a glasses repair kit in my suitcase. But we are both too blind to see how to get that tiny screw back in the frame. We are heading to a Target near our destination and hope they have an optical shop. We will only be around 20 miles from our campsite at that point. We had a lot of traffic around Richmond. Otherwise the drive has been pleasant. I dozed a lot and hubby had to stop once and rest. I predict an early bed time after we enjoy leftover pizza and a glass of wine. Hope everyone had a fun weekend. The pediatrician is putting Mack on strong antibiotics and then repeating the CT scan to see how her spleen and lymph nodes look. He will do more testing to get a full diagnosis if needed in 10 days. If time permits, you might was to read Max Blazer’s latest blip post on the Ukrainian Referendum. Enough to infuriate the calmest soul. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “The aster has not wasted spring and summer because it has not blossomed. It has been all the time preparing for what is to follow, and in autumn it is the glory of the field, and only the frost lays it low. So there are many people who must live forty or fifty years, and have the crude sap of their natural dispositions changed and sweetened before the blossoming time can come; but their lives have not been wasted.”
