Kingfisher

I know that it's not the sharpest of photographs, but we are very proud to have snapped this kingfisher on the Water of Leith at 7:20am this morning. We followed her* flitting upstream until she obediently posed for us on a branch on the opposite bank.

The other good news of the day is that the updated paper on the RIVAL project that I submitted on Saturday night has been accepted.

Apart from a little gentle emailing, today I have mainly dealt with domestic duties including soup brewing (pea and ham), cooking supper (a Vietnamese fish stew), and gardening (the yarden looks so much neater).

*It was Jack who told us that the bird is a female. I'm just wondering now if she should be called a queenfisher?

Exercise today: walking and gardening (14,966 steps).
