Stuff and Nonsense

Dock Bug

A brilliant shift at the butterfly house today. The heating was on, the sun was shining, and the butterflies were happily fluttering about all morning. Soon after we opened, we had 90 year 2 children from one of the local schools come to visit. They came in in groups of 7-8 as it's only a small place. Some were very loud and excitable, some were a bit scared, but most of them were absolutely delightful and were fascinated by the butterflies. It was a very busy, slightly chaotic hour but after they had left it was just magical and we were able to just sit and enjoy the peace and majesty of our beautiful butterflies.
I went for a stroll around the community garden and found this Dock Bug on one of the raspberry plants.

You can look forward to more butterflies this weekend, our last weekend of opening.
