If you can't beat them...

Swift Nest Box

The weather today, well up to late afternoon anyway, has been atrocious, blowing the proverbial Hooley and lashing with rain.  I took the recycling to the bottom of the garden and by the time I was back my waterproof was thoroughly wet.  I wasn't going to attempt photography in those conditions, so I took some shots of rain on the window.

This evening we went to the Penrith Swift Group meeting.  Recently started there was a small group of us turned up.  Planning for next year was started and nest boxes were discussed.  The local "Men's sheds" group is going to make 100 of these boxes, so the price to charge was discussed.  The blip is one of their boxes with a waterproof plastic roof.

If any one hasn't heard of "Men's Sheds I think this quote from their website sums things up well:

Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
