Living my dream

Sunshine surprise

1pm update from the Antarctic Blast Zone:

The weather forecast misled me. What was initially set to be blizzards to sea level off and on through the day has gradually dwindled to a forecast for possibly 0.6mm of indeterminate precipitation at around 3pm. Or possibly none at all.

Indeed, so much has it changed that for most of the day so far we have had wall to wall sunshine - albeit accompanied by a biting south-westerly wind.

That notwithstanding, the study has been in use; and the potbelly stove has been welcome, even when sun was pouring through the window. The opened window, to release some heat...

It's all a bit of a let down. But the views are good: the mountains received sparkling fresh snowfall overnight (while it rained here).

Bean has forsaken my company and her bed in front of the stove for full sun and shelter from the wind on the deck of the new cabin.
