Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

Eight blipping years ....

..... and dinner of cod nuggets and wedges (undemanding, because we neither of us felt inclined to cook) has miraculously arranged itself appropriately for the occasion.

A lot has changed in the last year.  On this day in 2021 we had just returned from Sweden, and were in the process of organising our first trip to look at houses in Ireland and think seriously about moving.  When we got back, we had intended to put the house on the market after Christmas, but the Estate Agent encouraged us to move ahead sooner, and in the event, we had our first buyer lined up before Christmas.  Of course, as regular readers will know, this all fell through.

In the event, we seem to have spent most of the last 12 months "in limbo".  Quite a lot of the year has felt like a non-event.  We did manage a trip to Sweden for the wedding of my younger daughter.

And now we have shaken the dust of the chaotic UK from our feet, and are in Ireland, trying to navigate the bureaucracy and get ourselves organised as residents, whilst still living in temporary rental accommodation, and remaining uncertain about a final removal date.  But one thing is certain - we're not going back!  By this time next year we WILL be settled in Ireland.
