Maidstone triptych

Susan tested negative! Hurrah. I tested positive Boo. Much fainter line though. Perhaps tomorrow!

We walked through Mote Park into town and back to buy a few things. The town centre has many shopfronts with brightly painted artwork disguising empty shops. Some new premises have opened, unfortunately the three latest are a vaping supermarket, a Wendy’s burger bar and a slots gambling den. Nearby a cheap chicken shop is about to open.

Town centres are under pressure I know. Is these the best we can do? To be fair there are plans to redevelop a couple sites around the town centre. I do hope they come to fruition.

Back to the triptych, today’s challenge, should you accept it, is to identify the defining characteristics of the town from these images shown. There might be a star or even a heart for the most identified or even the most amusing. I can’t make out what some of them are meant to be.

Some acrimonious posts of one of the Bearsted Facebook pages surrounding yet another election for the Parish Council. The candidate put up by the Tennis Club was soundly defeated. The main culprit attacked people rather than issues, loosing face and credibility. Perhaps this is the turning point for Project A a long running battle to prevent the destruction and displacement of our allotments to enable the Tennis Club to expand.

Did you read about the comment Lord Lucas made about the RSPB who are just one of many groups who are extremely concerned about the perceived “attack on nature” by the new government.
