Insurance irritations

A very dreary and wet day.  But, when you have a dog they must be walked whatever the weather.  Jess doesn't mind the rain at all.

Got some reassuring blood test results from the vet this evening about Jess that means she is fine to keep taking the daily arthritis medication she's on.  We've asked them to write us a 6 month prescription as the medication is nearly a third cheaper to buy online.

We are currently in an dispute with our insurance about my claim for the recent arthritis treatment back in March.  In looking back over the vet's notes, they say that my choosing to give Jess 'Yumove' in 2019 (as NOTED by the vet at her annual check up and not prescribed) precedes the start of our policy so it counts as a pre-existing condition and is therefore not covered.

This was a supplement I was giving Jess to keep her healthy as a preventative measure not as a treatment and it is therefore pretty annoying.

Vet bills this year regarding the limp in April 2022 and diagnosed as arthritis are £700 - and I never considered the insurance wouldn't pay it.  Grrrrr.
