The Local

We parked in the pub car park to go across to church for today’s monthly coffee morning. I haven’t noticed this black cab before embellished with the sheep’s head in gold and the name of the pub, The Golden Fleece. We normally walk and enter via the front door. It looks good and thought it worthy of a blip.

For the second month running the coffee morning wasn’t very well attended.  The first one back in September, the first since lockdown, was very well supported but after our December, Christmas one we will be reviewing whether to carry on or not. People are putting in a lot of effort baking etc without much return. We’re not really trying to make money from it though it was established originally as a fund raiser but just to offer a social venue for people and some outreach from the church.. We’ll have to see.

Git home and finished my ironing. I don’t enjoy it but it is undeniably a warm occupation!

Since then I’ve been watching the women’s Rugby League World Cup final. Australia walked away without rather surprisingly. Now it’s the mens final, Australia again against Samoa, I think the underdogs have the most support.

Whilst doing that I’ve made a start on sorting Christmas and have even wrapped some things. Hopefully that will stop me from keeping buying more!

Eda and Grace have gone to see ‘Elf’ in Bristol. Had Grace not just done Mack and Mabel she would have done this. The female lead is the lady that came to do face painting at Eda’s birthday party so that will be nice for Eda to see.
