Stars in the garden

After sleeping for much of the morning, a catch-up after last night, I've done little during the day. I've got a streaming cold, so I've just been hoping that some rest today will see it off quickly.

I did go out to look at the winter-flowering honeysuckle in the garden though, which is coming into bloom now -  a good deal earlier than usual. There are some lovely blooms, but my eye was really caught by the spangled spider web on its upper branches.

It's unusual, to say the least, to see this bush come into flower when there are still fuchsias and nasturtiums blooming nearby. We've had no frost as yet.
