Sunny Market Day

Just back from Skipton where it was market day under wondrous blue skies.

Usual Monday morning sing where we sang some lovely Christmas songs in preparation for singing at Baildon church on Sunday afternoon followed by their lights switch on. Not sure if we’ll make it due to our own church commitments on Sunday but really enjoyed the songs today.

It was misty when we set off to Bingley but hints of blue sky and a misty sun could be seen. The sun gradually won out and it was very sunny when we came out of singing though noticeably chilly.

Lovely drive along the Aire Valley before coffee and lunch in Skipton. We walked up the High Street past these stalls before heading back to the car and a mini shop in M & S, we did a big one last week. The tree is outside the Town Hall on the right with the lovely Holy Trinity Church at the head of the street. Yesterday the whole street was closed and in previous years we have sung at this lights switch on but weren’t invited this year. A shame as one of our groups is based in Skipton.

We passed Mountain Warehouse which was having a closing down sale so I got another Merino wool base layer at half price!
(It’s to get colder this week we’re told)
We left via Tesco which was the reason for our visit. I wanted some GF Christmas tree biscuits which I know they sell as I bought some here last year when we came for our third Covid jab.

It was a nice little interlude for a Monday, drove back home to more fog!

Last night we were on tenterhooks as Grace went to her Rose Bowl dinner. She was nominated for her performance in Evita earlier in the year. She’s been here before from previous nominations but last night was the night. She won Best Actress in a Musical. She and we are over the moon, it is well deserved

(Last years blip shows me a year ago we had snow and Jude took her first steps whilst visiting our house)

As I think the hearts have been given for Grace I have modified the collage to include her instead of adding her as an extra
