Hope

I’ve spent today putting up Christmas decorations, which is far earlier than I would normally do, but there was a special reason behind it. Our eldest granddaughter is coming up from Winchester with her Dad this weekend for the last time before Christmas, which she will be spending with relatives in Canada. Thus Granny has been busy ensuring that the house looks suitably festive – the tree is up and her presents will be wrapped and placed underneath it by Friday night.

Meanwhile, our Advent emails from Brian Draper will start tomorrow, so I’ve chosen to photograph this word ‘hope’ hanging from the Christmas tree, to remind myself of the glorious hope that the Christmas message brings to a broken world.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith so that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
