Strange protrusion

I wanted to get a balcony sunrise picture in the can whilst there was still a strange protrusion in the landscape. It's a piling machine over on the building site behind Stead's Place. It looks closer than it actually is. That mark in the sky is an aircraft that was coming in over Leith.

Anyway....apart from getting a cold blip first thing this morning, it was a good day. I spent most of the morning at graduation, where I was doing the oration for a student who graduated in the summer who won a Principal's Medal. She did a mighty fine reply. 

Various things in the afternoon, all fine.

In the evening to the Vaults, which was a bit packed,  perhaps because of St Andrew's Day. Beers, dinner and a dram with meles and daveH. And of course a couple of bottles brought home for home enjoyment.
