Life through the lens...

Winter cheer.

A very foggy morning but we have had some sunshine this afternoon. Very cold and damp though with max. Temp. 6C.

Usual farm shopping this morning. I decided to order a boned turkey crown for Christmas this year. We usually have pheasant or partridge for the two of us, but our youngest son will be joining us this year and he doesn’t like game.
Doesn’t seem long since I was cooking a whole turkey and wondering if it would fit in the oven. There would be about 10 of us for Christmas lunch in those days.
We even went to Norfolk one year, a few days just before Christmas, and brought a Norfolk Black turkey home with us for Christmas Day. (Not a live one)
This afternoon we went into Cleckheaton and I noticed the summer flowers have now been replaced by some lovely winter bedding. Perfect for a Friday Flower Blip.

MrC was pleased the diesel had come down to £1.75 a litre. Every little helps at Tesco.
I was pleased that our little old fashioned iron mongers had some replacement seals for my kilner jars. I peeled the onions yesterday and they are now all pickled and bottled ready for Christmas.

Today’s Advent Calendar joke:

What do donkeys send out near Christmas?

Mule - tide greetings.
