EXTERMINATE

BACKBLIPPED - photo taken 06/12 blipped on 07/12

First of all  apologies for the delay on putting up yesterday's and today's posts it's been somewhat busy and a bit traumatic.

Monday night neither Hubby nor I got much sleep, not good when you have to get up at 6.00  am.  On checking the status of our train the website stated that the train may be cancelled or significantly delayed due to a major fire at a closed down factory near Wolverhampton, right next to the track - eeeekkk!!!  Instant panic.  I'd just come to accept that we would have to drive up - not great when you are so tired.  Anyway it turned out the train did run and would only be delayed by 15 to 20 minutes - phew.

Due to being tired the journey upset hubby a little as he got a bit of travel sickness - mainly due to him being so tired we think.

Anyway we got there reasonably well, G and Rob's sister were waiting for us.  We went straight up to the National Museum of Scotland and had coffee and a cake.  As you can see the Daleks are at the museum.  Well just one at the momebt but they have an exhibition starting on 9th December about The Science of Doctor Who, which will run until 1st May 2023.  I may well travel up again to see it - but it depends  If it's all based on the new rubbish stuff then I won't.  Although I did like some of the new stories and al the Doctors up to and including Peter Capaldi.

After coffee Garron and I had a wonder  around a small part of the museum whilst we waited for the taxi to take us out the the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.  Rob and his sister went off to see The Socttish Parliament and have walk around and a catch up

G and I got to the ERI in time.  The appointment with the Neurologist was only 10 minutes late, so not bad.  He was very nice and very thorough.  He also did an exmination, unfortunately this trigged off a main balance and shaking spell for G - a really bad one.  Good in respect that the Neurologist could see it but not good for G or me witnessing it.  Anyway we go to some answers and clarification - so that is good.  G does have Cerebral Atrophy and FND (Functional Neurologist Disorder).  The Doctor is the leading Neurologist for this disorder and has written many papers and webinars about it all.  I undestood his explanations when he told us but I couldn't repeat them as I would never remember it all.  He spent one a half hours with us.  Luckily for us his next appointment never showed.  But we couldn't rush G due to his bad spell.  It took quite a while, but eventually he was fit enough to get a taxi back - luckily there was a taxi in the rank outside.

It turned out that we never had time to go for a meal so afer Hubby said goodbye to his sister he got us some sandwiches, we picked hm up in our taxi on the way to G's place where we could eat them in peace and pick up G's luggage.  . .

We got our train OK, it left on time and we got in on time so that was good.

We were home by about 7.30 pm.  Exhausted, but missions accomplishd.  It was good to see Sister-in-Law again, even if briefly for me and it's good that G is now here with us for about a month.

That is all from me.   Please do take care with this icy weather and stay safe.
