It is cold, very cold. So cold, that I started up the second air source heat pump to heat our home.

The surroundings are covered in frost as today’s Blipfoto shows.

Of course, we have bright blue skies, but the likelihood is that we will have more snow showers throughout this week of very cold weather.

On the journey home last night we passed through several areas of lying snow. The roads were fairly clear, although we did pass a tailback of over 5 miles on the other carriageway heading south.

The cause of the tailback was not easily discerned although there were several vehicles with blue flashing accompanied by several other vehicles of orange flashing lights.

We arrived home safely, although Pat had stayed very quiet as I concentrated on the driving.

I overheard Pat saying to Anne M that she was completely confident in my driving. Not something she ever says to me, but good to hear.

This cold weather is set to continue for several more days, with yellow weather warnings increasing each day.
