O CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE

as sung by Aretha Franklin

A greyer day today, well this morning anway, still very cold but not as biting as it was yesterday.  There has been a little bit of thawing in places too.

Hubby needed to go into town today for some shopping so  G and I decided to go with him.  We went into St Paul's to the annual Christsmas Tree Festival.  Now usually the dhurch is festooned with handmade snowflakes, the front door usuall has a wreath and the entrance porch is usually very well decorated.  Not like that today, for whatever reason, it's just unusual but could simply be a sign of the times, or many other reasons.

However the Chistmas Trees were still there with the usual exhibitors, a couple less than usual I think but not many.  A great deal of thought and creativity went into them. There were 30 exhibits.

Everyone will have had their favourites.  For me it was The simplicity of The Bay Rescue Team, the Ukraine Group and best of all the 3 done by children, 2 from the local primary school,  The Growing Well team, The Girls Guides an the Cartmel area Scouts.    The theme was Peace on Earth.  The children's imaginations were amazing and fabulous.  The Growing Well interpreted as Peas on Earth, which I loved.  When I've processed them all I will try to put a collage together for you.

We then just went on down to The Hazlemere for a delicious lunch before coming home.  Just a pleasant few hours out of the house.

That's all from me for today.  Do take care and stay safe and I will see  you all tomorrow.
