A time for everything

Christmas Day walk

It was a low-key Christmas Day with just the three of us. Jen was working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but she and Jason will be driving up tomorrow to join us for a few days and will be with us by late afternoon/early evening, so we decided to save our big Christmas dinner and present opening until tomorrow. In the churches we have attended in the U.S. it is not usual to have a service on Christmas Day, unlike England, but of course since it falls on a Sunday this year there was a service, but it was rather poorly attended. We were blessed with sunshine today, and I was preparing the cooked dinner in the evening, so after a snack for lunch, we went out walking at French Park to enjoy the snow and the sunshine. The trail followed the frozen stream bed, with several mini waterfalls, and was so pretty. I took quite a number of photos so it had to be another collage! After our roast chicken dinner, we watched a movie. So, a quiet Christmas Day, but it was rather nice spending less time in the kitchen, giving us more time to think about the real meaning of the day, and to get out and enjoy nature.
