HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR FOLLOWERS FROM THE LORNALPODCAST JOURNAL TEAM!

We are back on Blipfoto after a lovely break over the Christmas vacation. We are now more determined than ever to hunt down the remaining locations in our list (see below). Please do help us with the challenge, if you can!

Our first blip of the new year was supplied to us towards the end of last year by jonmountjoy. Thank you Jon for your shot of Tin Tin and Snowy/Milou to represent Belgium in our online photograph album of places mentioned in Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal, and now available as a podcast series).

Lorna mentions Belgium six times in her war diary on:

1. 21st September 1939, when she predicts 'I foresee the invasion of Belgium and Luxemburg even Holland in order to get at us and France' - in Episode 1 of the podcast series
2. 9th of November 1939 to report that 'Germany has been massing troops on the frontiers of Holland and Belgium' - in Episode 3 of the podcast series
3. 20th November 1939, when she notes that 'the offensive against Holland and Belgium seems to have been indefinitely postponed' - in Episode 3 of the podcast series
4. 11th April 1940, to relate that 'There are grave fears of an invasion of Holland and Belgium' - in Episode 5 of the podcast series
5. 10th May 1940, when her prediction of 21st September 1939 comes true 'Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg have been invaded as they were bound to be lying straight in the path of a thrust towards Britain' - in Episode 6 of the podcast series
6. 14th June 1940, with reference to the fall of Paris: 'Oh Paris, Paris. It is only five weeks since the invasion of Belgium!'  - in Episode 6 of the podcast series

We currently have only a few shots in the pipeline for this journal. Could you possibly add to it, please? We'd be especially interested to hear from new blippers. The places still sought are listed below.

Please send your contribution(s) (not previously blipped) to h.hall@napier.ac.uk and we will feature it(them) alongside the others that we have been blipping here since 13th July 2022

**The photos that you send don't need to have been taken by you (so long as you are not breaking the copyright of someone else of course). Perhaps you have a sibling, son, daughter or other relation who lives in, or has visited, one of the places in our list and could be persuaded to join our wee challenge?**

We also realise that it is going to be difficult to source shots of some of the locations listed. We will therefore also be happy to receive photographs from blippers to represent these 'tricky' places (see for example our blip of 4th December). Thank you!
